Collection: Food & Drink
For every individually crafted piece, the wood is hand selected by me during the months of October to February, this is the time when most maintenance work is completed to trees. Wood is selected for natural burls, grain and individuality.
The process then starts to dry the wood to reduce the moisture content, this initial drying takes between 8 to 12 months, after this time each mug is rough turned followed by a final drying process which takes a further 2 months. Once each mug is dried to a specific stable moisture content and only then does the final turning take place and inlays are added where required.
Please note mugs are normally made in batches of 10 to 12, and there are normally only 4 to 5 batches each year, each mug is completely different from the last.
